Will I write you a recommendation letter?
I want the best for you. I know that this is important to you, and I want to give you the edge in whatever it is that you are applying for. That said, I will only write you a recommendation letter if I know I can write you a GOOD recommendation letter. For me to do that:
1. I must know you really well. This can either be because you worked with me in some research project for at least 2 semesters, or you were in my class for 2 semesters or courses.
2. You must've performed really well. Of course, I will be writing about your competency, enthusiasm, and your work ethic. Doing excellent work in the lab (e.g., getting presentations or publications out) or in class (e.g., getting As) can show this. You must also show that you can work well with others.
If you think you fit the requirements, I will be more than happy to write you a really good recommendation letter. Email me at antover[dot]tuliao[at]ttu.edu to set up an appointment so we can talk about it. Hard copies of the materials I require should be submitted at least one week before our meeting.
