Teaching is one of the areas of my career that I find both challenging and rewarding. As an instructor, I recognize the fact that my course is not the culmination of a student's life. Therefore, my goal as an instructor is not only to educate about psychological phenomena and research methodologies, but to also provide tools and skills necessary to a student's academic success and professional development. My philosophy as an instructor can be distilled into three points: Motivation, practice, and goal-directedness. First, I aim to instill curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for lifelong learning by utilizing the students' inherent motivation for taking the course. Second, I aim to provide students with opportunities to develop critical thinking and hone their skills through targeted practice. Third, I structure my lectures and class activities in a way that caters to the students' individual goals and yet serves the public good.
